SCOTCH PLAINS – Three incumbent members of the Scotch Plains Fanwood Board of Education were sworn in during last Thursday evening’s annual reorganization meeting.
All three members, Nancy Bauer, Stephanie Suriani and Amy Winkler were re-elected to new terms in November.
According to official election results, out of 10,396 votes cast in Scotch Plains, Ms. Suriani received 5,699 votes and Ms. Bauer received 5,020. Candidate, John Greenblatt received 3,256.
In Fanwood, out of 3,508 votes, Ms.Winkler earned 1,869 while Candidate Gary Morris earned 903.
In other business, Board member, Evan Murray, last year’s vice president, was unanimously voted in as the President of the Board.
Dr. Karen Kulikowski, last year’s president, was unanimously appointed to be this year’s vice president.
Other appointments included Amy Winkler as the Union County School Board delegate, Amy Boroff as a delegate for the NJ School Board Association, and Deb Broady as a member of the Union County Educational Services Commission’s Representative Assembly.
Superintendent of Schools, Joan Mast Ed.D., congratulated the board members on their new positions and for being re-elected to the board.
