I am writing to thank Councilman Scott Katz for his work in his role as library liaison to the town council. I’d also like to encourage my neighbors to check out the wonderful resources available through the library and Councilman Katz’s informative newsletter.

I have been a “fan” of the library since moving to town. When my children were younger we would often frequent the library to take out books, play with the puzzles, and attend activities as available. With young children it was a great way to pass the time on a rainy or too hot day. As my children have gotten older they are 10 and 12, we have been fortunate to use the museum passes to visit the Museum of Natural History and the Morris Museum. My daughter looks forward to the first of the month when her hoopla account resets and she can get new books to read after burning through her quota the previous month. I often use the library to digitally check out books that I can stream on my kindle.

I thought I knew the library’s offerings pretty well, but after Scott Katz became the liaison as part of his role in town council, I learned about so many more offerings through his newsletters and postings. Last month for example he made us aware of a family-friendly band performing on Quimby, sponsored by the library. What a great event! Through his effective and consistent communication, I see that there are many more events and opportunities I can utilize through our town library than I realized. We consider ourselves lucky to have such a wonderful resource available, and to have a Councilman who also appreciates and passes along all of the library’s countless resources. Thank you Councilman Katz! We’re looking forward to joining you at the next great library event!
