Very stubborn defense prolonged the outcome of the showdown between the visiting No. 12 Elizabeth High School boys soccer team and the Scotch Plains-Fanwood Raiders on September 12. After a 0-0 stalemate in regulation and scoreless first overtime period, Jeanpierre Intriago on an assist from Justin Cedeno rippled the net to earn the 3-0 Minutemen a 1-0 victory over the 2-1 Raiders. Raider goalkeeper Jeff Dietrich recorded eight saves and Elizabeth keeper Andrew Gonzalez made three saves.
