CLARK — What do you do when you are diagnosed with multiple myeloma, an incurable form of cancer? If you are Clark resident Sheree Pask, you endure chemotherapy, lose your hair, and undergo tandem stem cell treatments at the John Theurer Cancer Center in Hackensack Hospital. And then, when you are physically able, you devise a plan to organize a fundraising event to support research for the disease. Mrs. Pask, an upbeat woman who worked for years as a teacher at the Presbyterian Nursery School and Kindergarten (PNS&K) in Westfield, has carried on through health challenges since 2007. She, along with Westfield resident Gina Klemm, started an annual event in 2012, the Multiple Myeloma 5K Run/Walk. Ms. Klemm’s involvement at that time was to honor her brother, Frank Guarino, who succumbed to the disease.
