Wednesday, October 25, police took a report of a shoplifting incident that occurred at the CVS Pharmacy, located at 241 Westfield Avenue. An unidentified male suspect was seen placing laundry detergent in a shopping cart and later removing it and passing all points of sale without paying. The total value of the merchandise is $75.47.
Thursday, October 26, police took a report of theft from a locker. A patron of LA Fitness reported placing his belongings in his locker and securing it with his own personal lock before leaving the locker room. Upon returning to the locker room, he noticed his lock was no longer present on the locker and that his wallet was missing. This incident is under investigation.
Thursday, October 26, police took a report of a shoplifting incident that occurred at the ShopRite supermarket, located at 76 Central Avenue. The suspects — two males and one female — placed merchandise, valued at $305.93, into a shopping cart and passed all points of sale without paying.
Friday, October 27, Cathy Beaty, 60, of Vauxhall was arrested and charged with shoplifting merchandise, valued at $53.32, from the ShopRite supermarket, located at 76 Central Avenue. She was subsequently released pending a court date.
Saturday, October 28, Cindy Perro, 47, of Springfield was arrested and charged with shoplifting $80.59 worth of merchandise from the ShopRite supermarket, located at 76 Central Avenue. Perro was processed accordingly and subsequently released pending a court date.
FANWOOD
Monday, October 23, patrol officers responded to the intersection of Staggard Place and South Avenue for a report of a suspicious motor vehicle. Upon arrival, officers observed the driver sleeping at the wheel in the roadway. Upon further investigation, officers placed Richard Motley, a 56-year-old Piscataway resident, under arrest and charged him with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI). Motley was released on a summons to appear in Fanwood Municipal Court at a later time.
Friday, October 27, patrol officers responded to a residence on North Avenue for a report of identity theft. The resident reported that his address was changed at his bank by unknown individuals, without his consent. The incident was documented by patrol officers.
Sunday, October 29, patrol officers observed graffiti and damage to the men’s bathroom at Forest Road Park. The incident was documented by patrol officers.
WESTFIELD
Sunday, October 22, a resident of the 600 block of Westfield Avenue reported an incident of theft which occurred during the overnight hours, between October 22 at 10 p.m. and October 23 at 8 a.m. According to the resident, an unknown person(s) stole four lawn signs from the front lawn of his residence. The owner estimated the total value of the stolen property at $20.
Sunday, October 22, a resident of the 600 block of Westfield Avenue reported an incident of theft which occurred between October 21 at 5:30 p.m. and October 22 at 1:30 a.m. According to the resident, an unknown person(s) stole two lawn signs from the front lawn of his residence. The owner estimated the total value of the stolen property at $10.
Monday, October 23, a resident of the 300 block of Kimball Avenue reported that his identity was stolen and used by an unknown person(s) to file a fraudulent tax return with the Internal Revenue Service. The resident reported this fraudulent activity to the Internal Revenue Service and did not suffer any monetary loss.

Tuesday, October 24, officers responded to the 300 block of South Scotch Plains Avenue for a residential alarm. Upon arrival, they discovered handprints and broken glass to an exterior window. A check of the premise and surrounding areas determined that entry was not made to the residence.
Wednesday, October 25, Jamal Robinson, 25, of Newark was arrested for an outstanding Union Township Municipal Court warrant during a motor vehicle stop at Central Avenue and West Grove Street. The bail amount was $750 and he was released with a new court date.
Friday, October 27, a resident of the 1000 block of Lawrence Avenue reported that a suspect went on to their porch and stole a package containing an iPhone 15. The approximate value of the iPhone was $1,000.
Saturday, October 28, a resident of the 900 block of Columbus Avenue reported an incident of criminal mischief. Sometime during the overnight hours, an unknown suspect(s) vandalized the victim’s Halloween decorations, causing approximately $300 worth of property damage.
Saturday, October 28, Dimas F. Infante, 55, of Monroe was arrested on the strength of active warrants out of Elizabeth Municipal Court, in the amount of $1,000, and Linden Municipal Court, in the amount of $750, pursuant to a traffic investigation in the area of East Broad Street and Mountain Avenue. Once the warrants were confirmed, Infante was transported to Westfield Police Headquarters, where he was processed and subsequently transported to the Elizabeth Police Department.
Saturday, October 28, a juvenile male, age 16, from the City of Newark was arrested near the 200 block of South Avenue East and charged with receiving stolen property (a stolen motor vehicle) and resisting arrest by flight. He was later released on a summons to a parent/ guardian.
