WESTFIELD — The First Congregational Church (FCC) invites friends and family everywhere to celebrate the Christmas season at several live and live-streamed Advent worship services centered around the theme of “Wonder &Awe: Reclaiming the Magic of Christmas.”
Advent Worship, which began December 3, will continue at 10 a.m. services on the Sundays of December 10 and 17.
In addition to worship services, First Congregational Church continues its service to the community during Advent with several outreach efforts in support of the students and families of PS-24 in Jersey City. This Sunday, December 10, immediately after the morning worship, FCC’s Alternative Gift Market will provide an opportunity to donate toward the purchase of clothing and accessories for the PS-24 students. Donations can be made by individuals or in a loved one’s name. All are invited to visit the table in Patton Auditorium during “Coffee Hour” for information and to make a donation.
FCC’s Board of Ministries also is sponsoring a Christmas Giving Tree for PS-24 students. To participate, take a tag off the Giving Tree in Patton Auditorium and bring gifts to the church by Sunday, December 17.
First Congregational Church of Westfield invites everyone to participate in its worship celebrations. All clergy-led services also are livestreamed on Facebook. Church members and visitors have found this to be a fulfilling option if in-person participation is not possible, as links to the order of worship, including prayer and announcements, are provided. Interested persons simply can visit the FCC Facebook page (@FCCWestfield) or click the link on the website (fccofwestfield.org). All services will be posted upon their conclusion on the FCC Facebook page for continued viewing and sharing.
First Congregational Church is located at 125 Elmer Street, Westfield.
