WESTFIELD — The Westfield College Men’s Club (CMC) has announced that tickets are now available for the 21st annual “Friday Night at the Fights” fundraiser, which is set for February 2, with the doors opening at 6:30 p.m. The bouts will once again be held at the Kenilworth Veterans Center, located at 33 South 21st Street, Kenilworth. DJ Robb from Ultimate Entertainment will return as the master of ceremonies. Boxing Night has traditionally been the CMC’s largest annual fundraiser for its scholarship fund.
Three ticket options are available, including: Ringside Tables: There are 16 ringside tables available for purchase. These tables traditionally sell out quickly and are reserved on a firstcome, first-served basis. Each table holds eight people and costs $2,000.
Non-Ringside Tables: There are five non-ringside tables available for purchase. Each table holds eight people and costs $1,800.
Individual Tickets: Individual tickets are available for $250 each.
All event tickets include dinner and soft drinks. There will be a cash bar for the purchase of beer, wine and mixed drinks. A 50/50 raffle also will be conducted during the evening. Anyone interested in purchasing a table or an individual ticket should contact Shawn Hanna at info.cmcwestfield@gmail.com. The Westfield CMC accepts credit cards and Venmo @CMCWestfield for payment. No reservation is final for tables or individual tickets until payment is received.
This event completely sold out the last year, so the CMC advises that those interested in attending purchase their tickets early. The CMC again wishes to thank its Platinum Sponsor, Ray Catena Mercedes-Benz of Union, and Gold Sponsor, Rumble Boxing of Westfield, for their generous support of this event.
The College Men’s Club of Westfield was founded in 1922 and over the past century has helped hundreds of Westfield young men by providing college-tuition assistance and funding standardized-test preparatory courses. Since its founding, the CMC has raised and distributed more than $1.3 million in highereducation assistance to young men of the Westfield community. In 2023, the CMC awarded a total of $74,500 in four-year scholarships and onetime grants.
Scholarship applications are available on the CMC’s website in February of each year and are evaluated by a committee of CMC trustees each Spring. Funds for scholarships come from fund-raising events, donations, membership dues, endowment investment income and legacy bequests.
