WESTFIELD -- On Friday January 26 at 2:19 p.m., the Westfield Fire Department responded to the report of a truck fire on the 400 block of East Broad Street. The first arriving Fire Department unit arrived on scene at 2:23 p.m., to discover a fully involved engine and cab compartment of an eighteen-wheeler car carrier. Fire Department members quickly deployed handlines for extinguishment, while confirming the driver of the vehicle was safely evacuated.
