Doris ‘Dot’ H. Davis, Longtime Fanwood Resident and Centenarian
Doris “Dot” Davis, beloved wife and mother, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at the age of 100, at her home in Fanwood.
A memorial service will be held at the Fanwood Presbyterian Church, 74 S. Martine Avenue, Fanwood, N.J., on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at 2 p.m.
Surviving are her six children, Diane Schmidt, Barbara (Robert) Kupper, Eileen (Richard) Shields, Kathleen Wheaton, Norma Carter and Richard Davis; six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and a great-great grandson.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Davis.
Doris worked at Wiser Realty in Scotch Plains and the Grand Street YMCA. She also was an active volunteer in Girl Scouts as a troop leader, in other school activities when her children were young, and volunteered at a crisis hotline. She was actively involved in the Fanwood Presbyterian Church for over 70 years, serving in many capacities, including Sunday school teacher, Vacation Bible School, the Board of Deacons and Thrift Shop volunteer, as well as many other activities.
