WESTFIELD – The Westfield Foundation proudly announces the recipients of its first quarter 2024 grants underscoring our enduring dedication to community collaboration and sustained support for organizations funded for decades. The foundation’s Trustees have greenlit four impactful projects that resonate with our mission and positively affect our youngest to oldest community members.
New Jersey Intergenerational Orchestra (NJIO): NJIO will perform three free orchestral concerts at senior residential and care facilities in the Westfield area that aim to connect people of all ages through music education and performances. The Outreach Ensemble brings music joy to senior living, nursing homes, and healthcare facilities.
Jewish Family Service of Central NJ: This vital service enables seniors to age in place, avoiding institutionalization, extending life and offering respite for overburdened caregivers allowing them to avoid caregiver ‘burnout’ and help in juggling care while they might still be working or living far away.
Second Street Youth Center (SSYC): Installation of WiFi access points in 14 classrooms for expanded access to educational programs and improve critical infrastructure.
A new phone system ensures accessibility for SSYC Navigator and Outreach staff to serve the entire community.
Imagine: Enhancing security with a new system and video doorbell.
Priority on the safety of staff and participants leaving the building during evening hours.
These grants exemplify our dedication to supporting initiatives that align with our mission and contribute positively to the well-being and education of our community members.
