Leroy M. ‘Buddy’ Redd, Jr., 91, Beloved Father and Grandfather

Leroy Miles “Buddy” Redd, Jr., 91, formerly of Westfield, N.J., passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024, at his residence in Rahway, N.J.

Born and raised in Westfield, he was a 1951 graduate of Westfield High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War years. Buddy was retired from the United States Postal Service, where he was a postal supervisor and letter carrier.

He enjoyed golf and being with his family. Buddy was the beloved husband of the late Sandra Redd. He is survived by his daughter, Leslie K. Redd; two sons, Tracy Redd and Travis M. Redd, and two grandchildren, Alec and Aubrey Redd. He was predeceased by his sister, Evelyn Scott, and his daughter-in-law, Christine Redd. Buddy’s funeral service, officiated by the Reverend Robert Sykes, was held on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, at Gray Funeral Home, 318 East Broad Street, Westfield, N.J., preceded by the visitation.
