WESTFIELD — On Valentine’s Day, Junior members of The Rake and Hoe Garden Club, Inc. of Westfield crafted 35 small floral arrangements that they donated to the staff at Complete Care Nursing Home, located at 1515 Lamberts Mill Road, Westfield.
The arrangements contained red and white carnations, plus greens. The Juniors decorated the arrangements with red hearts and attached a Valentine’s Day card to each one.
The Rake and Hoe Garden Club meets on the second Wednesday of the month at noon at the Shady Rest Country Club, located at 820 Jerusalem Road, Scotch Plains. Each meeting includes a guest speaker to educate members in the art and science of gardening, horticulture, floral design and nature photography.
The club also has a Junior section where school-age members work on projects at their own meetings.
