Friday, March 29, Jessica Garcia, 37, ofAvenel was arrested and charged with shoplifting merchandise, valued at $28, from the Target store located at 45 Central Avenue. Garcia was transported to Clark Police Department Headquarters, processed accordingly and subsequently released pending a court date.
Friday, March 29, Kervins Manasse, 37, of Irvington was arrested and charged with shoplifting merchandise, valued at $499.85, from the Target store located at 45 Central Avenue. Manasse was transported to Clark Police Department Headquarters and processed accordingly. He was found to have multiple outstanding warrants and ultimately transported to the Union County jail.

Thursday, April 4, police took a report of criminal mischief to a resident that occurred in the area of Willow Way. The incident is under investigation.
Thursday, April 4, police took a report of a shoplifting incident that occurred at the ShopRite supermarket located at 76 Central Avenue. The female suspect proceeded to stand in a checkout lane; however, then bypassed all registers and left without paying for the items in her cart. The suspect shoplifted merchandise valued at $392.94.

Thursday, April 4, police took a report of a shoplifting incident that occurred at the Ulta Beauty store located at 1255 Raritan Road. Two male suspects entered the store and proceeded to shoplift merchandise valued at $1,778.
Friday, April 5, police took a report of a shoplifting incident that occurred at the ShopRite supermarket located at 76 Central Avenue. The suspects are seen selectively scanning merchandise at the self-checkout lane and then proceeding to exit the store.
Friday, April 5, police took a report of theft from an unsecured locker being used by a patron of LA Fitness, located at 1255 Raritan Road. The incident is under investigation.
FANWOOD
Saturday, March 30, a resident of Midway Avenue reported that his wallet was stolen from his unlocked motor vehicle during the overnight hours. The incident was documented by patrol officers.
Wednesday, April 3, patrol officers responded to a residence on Midway Avenue for a report of a burglary to a motor vehicle. The vehicle was unlocked and parked in the driveway of the residence overnight. It appears that nothing of value was taken from the vehicle. The incident was documented by patrol officers.
Thursday, April 4, patrol officers responded to a residence on Paterson Road for a burglary to a motor vehicle. The vehicle was unlocked and parked in the driveway of the residence overnight. A brown backpack was stolen from the vehicle.
WESTFIELD
Sunday, March 24, the Westfield Police Department received a report of a found bicycle at Tamaques Park. The bicycle was reported as abandoned. A Westfield police officer responded and located the bicycle with no known owner in the area. The purple Kent bicycle was secured by the Westfield Police Department for safekeeping until an owner could be located. The serial number on the bicycle was checked and the bicycle was not reported stolen.
Monday, March 25, police responded to the 200 block of West Dudley Avenue on a report of a motor vehicle crash. Subsequent to their investigation, the driver of the vehicle, Ryan Nurnberger, 23, of Scotch Plains, was placed under arrest and charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI). He was transported to Westfield Police Headquarters, where he was processed and released to a sober adult.
Tuesday, March 26, an unknown suspect was observed via a resident’s Ring doorbell camera stealing two packages from the resident’s front porch on the 200 block of Wyoming Street. The suspect was described as wearing a dark-colored jacket, black sweatpants and white shoes. The total cost of the items stolen was $84.98.
Tuesday, March 26, a resident of the 600 block of Hanford Place reported being the victim of fraud/identity theft. The victim was informed that their identifying information was used to apply for a lease to inhabit an apartment but was denied. The victim’s bank then advised the victim that a request was made via phone call to make changes to their personal account. No monetary loss has occurred; however, the victim’s identifying information has been compromised.
Wednesday, March 27, a victim from the 500 block of North Avenue East reported an incident of theft. Specifically, the victim reported that an unknown suspect removed a package from his front porch and left the area on foot. The victim suffered a monetary loss of $10 as a result of this incident.
Thursday, March 28, a resident of the 400 block of North Avenue West reported being a victim of check fraud. The victim reported that an individual used two fraudulent checks in the victim’s name to withdraw a total amount of $7,000 from the victim’s bank account.
Thursday, March 28, police responded to the 600 block of South Avenue West for a welfare check of a motorist. Pursuant to their investigation, Meghan Lapolla, 34, of Garwood was arrested and charged with DWI. Lapolla was taken to Westfield Police Headquarters, where she was processed and released to a sober adult.
Thursday, March 28, the owner of a property located on the 500 block of Springfield Avenue reported a burglary at the premise and an attempted theft of tools while within. The incident took place at approximately 8 p.m. that day. Several suspects gained entry into a locked premise and attempted to pry open a lock box containing tools. Damage was done to the box, which has an approximate value of $500.
Saturday, March 30, Jonathan Faggins, 63, of Westfield was placed under arrest and charged with Obstructing Administration of Law. Westfield police officers conducted a motor vehicle stop of Faggins’ vehicle on the 200 block of Cacciola Place. Faggins then fled from his vehicle once stopped. Faggins was placed under arrest pursuant to a foot pursuit by Westfield police officers and transported to Westfield Police Headquarters. Faggins was processed and released on a summons with a mandatory Westfield Municipal Court date as well as multiple motor vehicle summonses.
Saturday, March 30, William Goggel IV, 24, of Fords was arrested and charged with DWI pursuant to a motor vehicle stop at North Avenue West and Crossway Place and subsequent investigation. He was additionally arrested on the strength of a Woodbridge Municipal Court outstanding warrant in the amount of $1,500. Goggel was released to a sober adult following processing and posting of the full $1,500 bail.
