FANWOOD — A sale featuring organic and heirloom vegetable and herb seedlings will take place on Saturday and Sunday, May 4 and 5, at the LaGrande Park Pavilion in Fanwood. The hours will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days. The rain dates are the following weekend, May 11 and 12, during the same hours.
Hundreds of seedlings will be available, including a variety of tomatoes, peppers (hot and sweet), cucumbers, peas, beans, kale, Swiss chard, eggplant, basil, parsley, lettuces and more.
The expert gardeners who started the plants from seed — both of whom live in Fanwood — will be on hand to offer advice and answer questions about when to plant, how to cultivate, suggestions on companion planting and other helpful tips.
Proceeds will benefit the Friends of the Fanwood Memorial Library, a 501 (c)(3) organization that raises funds for services, special items and programs beyond the library’s annual budget.
