Thursday, May 9, police took a report of an attempted burglary to a motor vehicle that was parked on Brant Avenue. This incident is under investigation.
Thursday, May 9, Bonnie Griffin, 43, of Edison was arrested and charged with shoplifting at the Target store, located at 45 Central Avenue. Griffin was transported to Clark Police Department Headquarters and processed accordingly. She was subsequently released pending a court date.
Friday, May 10, police took a report of fraud from a resident. This incident is under investigation.

Saturday, May 11, Charles Voeltzel, 81, of Scotch Plains was arrested and charged with shoplifting merchandise, valued at $343.52, from the ShopRite supermarket, located at 76 Central Avenue. Voeltzel was transported to Clark Police Department Headquarters and processed accordingly. He was subsequently released pending a court date.

SCOTCH PLAINS
Monday, April 29, a motor vehicle burglary was reported on the 100 block of Victor Street. Between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m., suspects attempted to steal the vehicle, but were unable to. This matter is under investigation.
Tuesday, April 30, a motor vehicle reported stolen from Newark in the early-morning hours was recovered on the 100 block of William Street. The detective bureau is working with the Newark Police Department in identifying all of the suspects who were captured on residence and business cameras.
Thursday, May 2, a burglary to a residence was reported on the 2200 block of Morse Avenue. Unknown suspects entered the house and removed numerous items. This matter is under investigation.
Thursday, May 2, a resident of South Plainfield had his debit card stolen during a diversion scam at the Bank of America. The detective bureau is working with other agencies in identifying the suspects.
Friday, May 3, Mark Hayden, a 22year-old male residing on O’Donnell Avenue, was arrested and charged with multiple weapon offenses for shooting BB guns out of a window in the rear of his residence. Hayden was issued a criminal summons and was released.
Sunday, May 5, a resident of Johnson Street reported that two individuals stole the catalytic converter on his motor vehicle. Between 4:30 a.m. and 4:40 a.m., the resident heard a noise outside and observed two males get into a white SUV and drive away. This matter is under investigation.
Monday, May 6, JoelA. Santos, a 33year-old Edison resident, was arrested for an outstanding traffic warrant as the result of a motor vehicle stop. Santos was given a new court date by the Franklin Municipal Court and was released.
WESTFIELD
Sunday, May 5, Westfield Police Department officers responded to a residential burglary alarm on the 800 block of Wallberg Avenue. While officers were en route to this call for service, it was determined that unknown suspects had gained entry to the victim’s residence by tampering with the handle of an exterior side door. Upon further investigation, it appeared that the suspects left the residence upon activation of a residential burglary alarm. No items were reported missing by the victim. High-end motor vehicles located outside of the victim’s residence appeared to be the target of this incident. As officers patrolled the surrounding area, they located a suspected stolen vehicle bearing a previously-stolen license plate. The suspect vehicle fled the area at a high rate of speed.
Monday, May 6, a resident of the 1000 block of Minisink Way reported that an unknown person made a fraudulent purchase onAmazon utilizing their credit card. The total amount was $148.21.
Monday, May 6, a victim on the 100 block of Cacciola Place reported that their identity was stolen and that the suspect(s) filed a fraudulent tax return with the Internal Revenue Service. It is unknown how the personal information of the victim was obtained. The victim has suffered no monetary loss at this time.
Monday, May 6, Westfield Police Department officers arrested Reina Cheatam, 30, of Union on the strength of a traffic warrant during a motor vehicle stop on the 100 block of Prospect Street. Cheatam was released on scene after completing a New Jersey Bail Recognizance Form for the North Bergen Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $1,026.
Monday, May 6, Westfield Police Department officers arrested Yusneira Montieldoval, 39, of Bayonne on the strength of a traffic warrant during a motor vehicle stop at Elm and East Broad Streets. Montieldoval was released on scene after completing a New Jersey Bail Recognizance Form for the Bayonne Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $100.
Tuesday, May 7, a resident of the 1500 block of Lamberts Mill Road reported an incident of theft. According to the resident, an unknown suspect(s) stole $7,000 in cash from his room.
Wednesday, May 8, Jessica Quinones, 28, of Cranford was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) pursuant to a motor vehicle stop on the 400 block of South Avenue West and a subsequent investigation. Quinones was transported to Westfield Police Headquarters, where she was processed and released with a future court date.
Thursday, May 9, a resident reported a theft of $5,549 worth of miscellaneous household items. According to the resident, sometime between December 12, 2023 and December 14, 2023,asuspectstoleseveralitemsstored inside her residence, located on the 500 block of Summit Avenue.
Friday, May 10, Eli Simmons, 26, of Rahway was arrested on an outstanding Westfield Municipal Court warrant, pursuant to a motor vehicle stop at Ripley Place and Cacciola Place. Simmons was released on scene with a new court date.
Friday, May 10, Kelly Aguirre, 34, of Fords was arrested on an outstanding New Brunswick Municipal Court warrant, pursuant to a motor vehicle stop on the 600 block of Central Avenue. Aguirre was processed and turned over to the New Brunswick Police Department in lieu of bail.
Saturday, May 11,Alshameke Diggs, 34, of Irvington was arrested at Central Avenue and Virginia Street on the strength of a Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office no-bail warrant and a Jersey City Municipal Court warrant in the amount of $1,000. Diggs was turned over to Monmouth County Sheriff’s officers without incident.
Saturday, May 11, Davlatjon Rabbimov, 26, of East Brunswick was arrested after being found double parked on the 100 block of East Broad Street in the Westfield Central Business District, when a license-plate inquiry of said vehicle revealed an outstanding East Brunswick Municipal Contempt of Court warrant in the amount of $1,500. Rabbimov was arrested on the strength of the warrant, transported to Westfield Police Headquarters and subsequently turned over to the East Brunswick Police Department without incident.
