Lifelong Westfield is very honored to celebrate Gail and Tom Cassidy as our June Senior Spotlight.
Since moving to Westfield from Rahway in 1972, they have spent 51 years as an amazingly positive influence on our town. Besides bringing up two wonderful children here (Lynne and Tommy) , they have both spent timeless hours as volunteers in this community.
Tom has served on the board of the Westfield Baseball and Basketball organizations, was an active member of the Westfield Jaycees, and has worked with the Westfield Recreation Department assisting with transportation of our senior citizens.
Gail spent many years volunteering and leading over seven different organizations, including being a crucial member on the Westfield Board of Education, Rotary Club, Westfield Foundation, and others.
Gail, who is also an author of 24 books, and a motivational speaker, shares something very special with her daughter Lynne – Lynne is a member of the Westfield Sports Hall of Fame, while in 2019, Gail was named to the Westfield Historical Society Hall of Fame.
Gail and Tom who first met at IBM, moved to Westfield to have a family and to give of themselves by “getting involved.” They have certainly done that! They feel that our town is a wonderful place to live and that there is something here for everyone, saying that Westfield is a, “friendly town with welcoming people.”
