Claire M. Fink, Beloved Wife and Mother
Claire M. Fink of Sarasota, Fla., passed away on Monday, June 10, 2024, in Sarasota. She and her husband, Richard, were residents of Scotch Plains, N.J., for over 30 years.
Mrs. Fink was born in Jersey City, N.J., on June 6, 1933, grew up in Hasbrouck Heights, N.J., and graduated from Green Mountain College in 1953 with an Associate Degree in Retailing and Merchandising. Following graduation, Mrs. Fink worked at Franklin & Simon in New York City as an Assistant Buyer.
In 1955 she married Richard A. Fink and moved to Haddonfield, N.J., and later to Scotch Plains, N.J. She was a homemaker and raised three children. While living in Scotch Plains, Mrs. Fink was active in the Junior Woman’s Club and served as President of the Woman’s Club of Westfield from 1967 to 1968. She also was a Boy Scout Den Mother, a Girl Scout Leader and an avid bowler, golfer, tennis and bridge player.
Mrs. Fink moved to Sarasota after her husband retired and lived there for nearly 35 years. She continued her interest in golf, tennis and bridge and was an active member of St. Boniface Episcopal Church. She and her husband traveled extensively during their retirement years.
She leaves her devoted husband, Richard; a daughter, Susan Hillel (Pavel) of Osprey, Fla.; a son, Donald (Melanie) of Wolfeboro, N.H.; a daughter, Linda Campbell (Edmund) of Treasure Island, Fla., and grandsons Daniel and David Michalak of Parsippany and Haskell, N.J.
