The Westfield High School boys varsity placed second behind the Union Catholic Vikings in the Union County Conference Watchung Division cross-country meet at Oak Ridge in Clark on October 16. The Vikings had a total of 28 and the Blue Devils totaled 47. The Cranford Cougar girls won the varsity Mountain Division with a total of 32, followed by New Providence and Elizabeth both at 58, while Scotch Plains-Fanwood was fourth at 69.
