Kathy Dulan is a special woman who has spent the majority of her life educating and caring for others. Kathy moved to Westfield in 1972 when her young children, Jim and Dave, were only two and four years of age. She and her husband, Jim, fell in love with Westfield when visiting a friend in town and immediately knew where they wanted to raise their family. Kathy, who graduated from St. John University, taught high school English literature as well as business classes. She was married to her beloved husband, Jim, for 24 years until his untimely death in 1988. She spent 40 years as the director of religious education for the Church of St. Helen and is still very active in her church today. She gives so much of herself not only with the senior population at St. Helen’s, but has also been a very active member of Lifelong Westfield for over three years. Kathy has been an 'amazing addition to Lifelong Westfield and her passion and energy comes right from her heart,' according to Brad Chananie, co-chair of Lifelong Westfield. One of her sons lives in town, while the other has settled in California. Her two granddaughters, Marcelle and Sally, are the joys of her life. What Kathy loves most about Westfield is the many amazing 'lifelong' friends that both she and her sons have made. Having grown up in Brooklyn, coming to town has been an amazing move to the country, where she has loved the community pool, block parties, and her volunteering. Her advice to our youth is to enjoy every moment with a positive attitude and to take advantage of all of the fabulous things that Westfield has to offer.
