WHS Theatre Department Tackles Play that Exposes Evils of Society
WESTFIELD – How could The Mad Woman of Chaillot, a play written during World War II and performed for the first time in 1945, be relevant to the world today or to the teens who were in the Westfield High School Theatre’s production? Jean Giraudoux’s play, adapted by Maurice Valency, is satiric, whimsical and arguably a fable. Add its universal themes and voila, it all connects. The haves and have nots battle is ages old.
