A very strong Summit High School girls swim team defeated the Scotch Plains-Fanwood Raiders, 113-57, in the season opener on December 10. The Raider girls were able to place first in one relay, the 200-free relay when Shae Trenery, Tessa DeGennaro, Charlotte Ouellette and Kiera St. John touched in 1:49.14. Trenery also took first in the 100butterfly at 1:02.57, followed by Summit’s Juliet Ho at 1:02.81 and Ouellette at 1:05.99.
Summit’s Addison Reheis, Ho, Caroline Fox and Juliet Webb won the 200-medley relay in 1:43, followed by Raiders DeGennaro, St. John, Trenery and Ouellette at 2:02.19. Summit swept the 200-free with Amanda Semsel at 2:06, Grace Madden at 2:10.05 and Carly Callahan at 2:17.7. Ho took first in the 200–Individual Medley at 2:18.11 followed by St. John at 2:28.07 and Reheis at 2:28.47.
Webb grabbed first in the 50-free at 26.23, followed by DeGennaro at 26.73 and Summit’s Ava Miller at 27.66. Webb also took first in the 100-free at 59.17, chased by Fox at 1:00.2 and St. John at 1:01.6. Semsel led a sweep in the 500-free at 5:52.07, followed by Callahan at 6:05.78 and Emily Hickey at 6:28.45.
Reheis won the 100-back in 1:07.02, followed by Summit’s Katherine Hicks at 1:09.53 and Raider Sabrina Bogatz at 1:12.93. Madden won the 100-breast in 1:15.27, followed by Raiders Maddy Valera at 1:18.21 and Gabby Suriani at 1:21.24. In the 400-medley relay, Callahan, Hickey, Miller and Reheis took first at 4:14.53. Summit also took second at 4:18.66.
