SCOTCH PLAINS — Ninety-three years ago, Charles Lindbergh, Jr., son of famous aviator Charles Lindbergh, was kidnapped from his home. J.D. Solomon, a Westfield resident and retired journalist, regards this as the most notorious crime to have occurred in New Jersey. This case resulted in the “Lindbergh Law,” formally called the Federal Kidnapping Act.
