DISTINGUISHED GRADUATE… Patrolman Chrisopher Battiloro received three awards at graduation last week from the John H. Stamler Police Academy in Scotch Plains (pictured, left above with Police Chief Anthony J. Scutti)., , is presented with the Anthony Lordi Award by Union County Prosecutor Thomas Manahan, a fellow Westfield resident. The award, one of three which the new officer received, is given for demonstrating excellent achievement in the area of criminal code, law and arrest and search and seizure.

MAKINGS OF A FEAST... Scotch Plains-Fanwood students are pictured with some of the food they purchased after a successful cannister drive for the needy. The students delivered more than 150 baskets of fruit, vegetables, rice, fluor, eggs, bread and turkey to needy families in the area. The students worked with the Fanwod Presbyterian Church, St. Bartholomew's Roman Catholic Church in Scotch Plains and the Scotch Plains Welfare Department.
