PORTRAIT PRESENTATION…Governor Christine Todd Whitman is presented with a portrait of George Washington for the State of New Jersey by William M. Sanders of Mountainside, in commemoration of the 200th anniver sary of the first President’s death. Pictured, left to right, are: Assemblyman Richard H. Bagger, State Senate President Donald T. DiFrancesco, Governor Whitman, Assemblyman Alan M. Augustine, and Mr. Sanders. The Executive Director of Portraits of Patriots, Mr. Sanders has the original engraver’s proof of the presidential portrait of Washington, and will be reproducing it in honor of the bicentennial.

SPECIAL DONATIONS…Students in Lorna Everhart’s third grade class at School One Elementary in Scotch Plains recently honored the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s spirit of helping others by collecting infant care items. The items, which included diapers, clothing and baby toys, were donated to a local charity that helps mothers and babies.
